11 Samacheer Kalvi Solutions for 12.5.20

The initial concept of Probability was formed in the 16th century by two mathematicians. The credit goes to both of them. The concept was further extended by another mathematician Laplace who in the 18th century created the Bayesian concept. There are a lot of events in the real world that cannot be predicted. We try to find out if the event will happen by defining the probability.

It is good for students to understand the concepts of Probability as it will be applied in their career in the future when they work for corporate or government agenciesThe probability will be used to make the decisions. It's always a good idea to use a mathematical formula to make decisions instead of relying on chance or experience. There are many events in the world that are unexpected. There could be multiple types of outcomes that come from the event.

The most likely outcome is figured out by the probability. If the result of the process is already known and can be defined it is an experiment. If one can predict the outcome of an experiment in advance the experiment is called a Deterministic experiment.Non-Deterministic Experiment is another name for Random Experiment. We know the possible outcomes of a random experiment but we can predict which will happen.

Sample space is the collection of all the possible outcomes when there are multiple events.A countable number of sample points and an uncountable number of sample points are the two types of sample points in a space. The number of samples can't be divided into subcategories. There are finite number of sample points or infinite number of sample points.First we need to know about the definition of probability then we need to know about the following.

The sample space is indicated by a letter. There is a number of elements in the sample space. When a coin is thrown the sample space is Head.A sample space has two elements. When two coins are thrown at the same time the sample space is shown as HH HT TH and TT.

When 3 coins are tossed at the same time the sample space is HHT HTH TTH TTT THH.The sample space has a number of elements in it.Two coins are tossed the same as one coin being thrown two times. We shouldn't be confused with these statementsWhen 3 coins are tossed it can be called one coin thrown three times.

                                                    When a die is thrown the sample space is 1 2 3 4 5 6The number of space available is 6.The sample space is 11 12 13 14 15 16 21 22 23 24 25 26 31 32 33 34 35 36 41 42 43 44 45 46 51 52 53.The sample space had 6 elements.The formula to find the coins' sample spaces is 2n.

The sample spaceSize is 4 if we put the n as 2.If we put the n as 3 the sample space size is 8 and if we put the n as 4 the sample space size is 16.6n is the formula to find sample spaces in dies. The sample space size is 6 if we put n 2 in.The sample space is 36 if we use the n as 2.
