11 Samacheer Kalvi Solutions for 12.5.6

The idea of Probability was founded in the 16th century by two mathematicians from France. The credit for creating the basics of probability goes to them. The concept was created by another mathematician in the 18th century who was named Laplace. It is not possible to predict many of the events that happen in the real world. We attempt to make an intelligent guess about the probability of the event occurring.

It is beneficial for students to understand the concepts of Probability as they will be applied in their career in the future when they work for corporate or government agenciesThe probability will be used to make the business decisions. It is always a good idea to make decisions using a mathematical formula instead of relying on chance.Surprises and unpredictable outcomes are what the world around us is filled with. There are multiple types of outcomes that could come at an event.

The most likely outcome is determined with the probability. An experiment is defined if the result of the process is already known. If one can predict the outcome of an experiment before it starts then it is called a Deterministic Experiment.Random experiment is also called the non-deterministic experiment. We know what will happen in a random experiment but we don't know which one it will be.

Sample space is the collection of all the possible outcomes if there are multiple possible outcomes.Countable number of sample points and uncountable number of sample points are the two types of sample points. The number of sample points doesn't fit into a subcategory. The countable number of sample points are either finite or infinite.First we have to know the definition of probability then we have to know the following things.

S is the space's sample space. The possible outcome is what the number of elements in the sample space is for.The sample space is named Head Tail when a coin is tossed.there are 2 elements in the sample space. The sample space for when two coins are thrown at the same time is HH HT TH and TT.

When 3 coins are tossed at the same time the sample space is HHH HHT HTH HTT TTH TTT and THH.There were eight elements in the sample space. Two coins are the same as one coin thrown two times. We don't need to get confused with them. When 3 coins are thrown it can be called one coin three times.

                                                    The sample space is 1 2 3 4 6 when there is a die thrown.The amount of sample space is 6The sample space is 11 12 13 14 15 16 21 22 23 24 25 26 31 32 33 34 35 36 41 and 52.There were six elements in the sample space.The formula for finding the number of sample spaces is 2n.

The sample space size is 4 if we put n as 2.The sample space size can be 8 or 16 if we put the n as 3.6n is the number of sample spaces that can be found in dies. The sample space size is 6 if we add n=2.The sample size is 36 if we put the n as two.
