Calculus is the part of mathematics that deals with the changes in quantities. There are two types of calculus one is pre-calculus and the other is calculus.Precalculus is static while calculus is constantly changing.Pre-calculus deals with slope of a line and rate of speed of an object. The rate of speed of a changing object and the slope of a curve are dealt with by calculus.

If you take is isThe physicist is going to try to calculate the rate of change in the object's velocity. The rate of change can be dealt with by a chemist. The biologists deals with changes in the population of a species over time.Over a period of time the economist deals with the rate of change of the economy and the share price.

In any of the professional careers that a student would be taking over in their life learning calculus is very important. There were two people who introduced the calculus at the same time Sir IsaacNewton from England and Leibnitz from Germany. After becoming an expert in mathematics Newton created a new concept related to the rate of change.Calculus is born because of this. There is a conflict about who first discovered the material.

Louis Cauchy is a mathematician who contributed to the formula. He created the formula for the limits of difference quotients which was the first definition of a limit. The second major mathematician is Karl Weierstrass. He gives concepts of limits differentiability and continuity.Using pre-calculus methods we can calculate the tangent to the circle.

We can use pre-calculus methods to analyse the area of a square but we need to use thecalculus method to analyse the area under a curve. The three stages of calculus are shown in the is the priceThe first part is pre-calculus the second is the limit process and the final part is the calculus. It's not a good idea for students to learn calculus as a set of formulas if they don't know what the definition is.The concept of limit was devised by Louis and Karl in the 19th century despite the fact that calculus is around for 1000s of years.
